If traipsing isn’t your thing, don’t fret, we have some thrilling mountain twists and turns we will be navigating as well, as we make our way to Spier Falls.   

Spier Falls is an impressive Hydroelectric dam that rests on the Hudson River.

In 1903 Spier Falls were dammed and the Spier Falls Hydroelectric station was built. At the time, it was the 4th largest dam and power plant in the world. But that didn’t come without a cost, although the exact number is disputed, there were tragically at least 29 lives lost during the construction of the dam.Currently Spier Falls Hydroelectric Dam is ranked 48 out of 944 power plants in New York and 2,202 out of 12,509 power plants nationwide in terms of total annual net electricity generation.
